Im about to get real personal yall... When I sat down and designed Georgia Crafted, the one thing I was so excited about was the people I would meet along the way. Im talking both artisans and customers. To hear artisans background stories, how their business is growing...to receive emails from customers sharing their excitement over the Georgia Crafted box they received or gifted. What you would probably expect... What I did NOT expect to happen are the tremendous amount of friendships I would develop over the course of such a short time. Whether our customers and artisans know this or not, I develop a bond with every single one of them on some level and, as any friend does, try to stay in contact (with many of them) about their every day daily lives. This past week, I received some devastating news from one of our artisans (whom will remain unnamed) - her son, whom I have met on a few occasions (and is the same age as my oldest), was admitted the the hospital for hip pain. After a series of tests, it has been revealed that he has a tumor and the cancer has spread to his spine, ribs and probably his hip. This boy is so full of life - more so than many kids I have met. So...I am asking all of you for one favor. Please, please, please keep this little boy and his family in your thoughts and prayers. They have a very long road ahead of him...and while I feel confident he will be fine, I think the power of prayer by so many of you can only help. Thank you for reading this. -Erin
