I was directed to call customer service who, after goodish confusion, directed me to Channel 1997 - a Christian evangelical station - before directing me to tech support, who tried rebooting twice, after which my two week old cable box ceased working altogether. I was told a technician would be at the house today. No one called or showed. I was told someone would report back to me on the fate of Al Jazerra American and no one has. This mornings NYTimes brought disconcerting news of Mr. Obamas nominating Vice Adm. Michael S. Rogers, the US Navys most aggressive cyber warrior, head of the NSA. I dont flatter myself that the technological difficulties Im experiencing with Time Warner are anything more than what Time Warner customers are inured to but why was an interview broadcast in Germany pulled from Youtube, then Vimeo? Whats with installing a hawk to head the NSA? Listen, if I disappear from this facebook-thingie, be afraid.
