Im aggravated that the parents arent doing what parents should do, the sheriff said. Responsible parents take disciplinary action. This is a quote from the Huffington Post. huffingtonpost/2013/10/15/charges-rebecca-sedwick_n_4103103.html .... PLEASE, PLEASE, think about your kids. THINK about what you post on FB or any other internet site. Please think about what you talk to your kids about, kids need to stand up for each other and help solve the problem ... not just walk away. I know it is hard and difficult but it is more hard and difficult if this were your daughter? Strong words, yes, we need to help our kids learn the basics of humanity. Lets teach them to honour us (their parents), our teachers, principals, town representatives, government ... respect us (their parents) and others in authority. Help them to learn that there is a way to express your view correctly ... not name calling or rudeness but with facts and your own opinion. Think how difficult this situation feels to resolve as it is such an overwhelming big problem for all of us ... schools, colleges etc etc. However, if we start with one family at a time and think about whether a child needs that cell phone or i-pad or other electronic device (whether they are bullied or comment on a bullies remarks). Think about the time you spend with your kids. Think about how you deal with other people in front of your kids (and when you think they arent listening). Think about doing simple things with your younger kids, whether it is pooh sticks in the river or looking at a worm, TAKE THE TIME NOW with your kids. DONT rush them when they are at the playground and the day is all to yourselves. Let Trumbull village have a role in kids lives. If they see something wrong, SAY SOMETHING! Dont be a bystander. Of this I am most guilty. Do your kids really need all the outside sports that they are taken to? What about spending quiet time as a family each evening and learning something more valuable about honour, respect and love? Are you so busy that you may miss out on something important that your child cannot express because they need to be somewhere else?!?! Help honour and respect Rebecca Sedwick by making changes in your lives NOW!
