Im all for equality, and improving the living conditions, workplace treatment and other matters where certain subsections of the human race are disregarded and considered lesser. However, there are times when people go too far to make their point. They become what they hate, just fighting on the opposite side of this war theyve conceived, and its solely in their mind. Dont get me wrong: there are plenty of chauvinists, racists, psychos, fiends, bastards, arseholes and other unsavoury fellows out there that take great pleasure in perpetuating this cycle of hatred. The only way we can stop them, is to ignore them and speak positively, clearly and lead by example. Its arduous beyond measure. A daily struggle, but anything worth having is a struggle. We have to look to the past and analyse mistakes our forebears made. By doing so, we can gain a perspective we lack when simply being reactionary. This, coupled with a boundless enthusiasm and indomitable spirit and we can do anything. One step is being humble enough to, even though it may not appeal to us--and may feel like thinly veiled hate speech--laugh at jokes made at our expense and the expense of those we feel kinship with. If we look hard enough, theres a certain absurdity to everything. Perhaps even this post.
