Im anticipating massive terrified status updates because of the announcement this morning. Please remember that this virus is NOT airborne. Yes, this is a VERY serious situation and many people are going to die, but these people are going to die because of fear and ignorance and lack of medical resources. They are afraid of western medicine and untrusting. They are hiding infected people and thus, infecting family members caring for them without realizing the dangers. These people arent all over Facebook and twitter. They dont know how to halt the spread of the virus. We need to send ground aid to help contain the virus. People need to be quarantined and treated. Yes civil rights must be considered, however this is a worldwide threat and the appropriate steps must be taken to prevent the uncontrolled spread of this. Please read up on how the virus spreads before going into full panic mode.
