Im ashamed to admit it, but there was a period in my life when I was so busy with life and my professional goals, that when #missionaries from our church would come over, I praised myself for inviting them in and offering them dinner. In my arrogant naivete, I thought I was doing them a favor or a good deed. I still cant believe how wrong and self centered I was. They were the ones doing me and my family the favor and I was too blind to see it. My life has changed considerably since then, and now, every visit, every lesson, every handshake is wholeheartedly embraced, and their timing is impeccable. Their messages are always what I need to hear when I need to hear it. Last night, both my wife and I were exhausted and our patience tested from the daily grind, and our Home Missionaries Elder Brian Jackson & Elder Bryan Mancia sat patiently in our living room until we were ready for our lesson. Last night was a little different and they proceeded to give each member of my family a personal blessing. I cant describe in words the calmness that replaced the anxiety in my home that was present only 20 minutes prior, I can only say thank you to these young men.
