Im ashamed to live in Manatee County.... where judges and a county attorney have been so determined that 2 beautiful, former therapy dogs should die as a result of a 1st offense (ever in their lives... and there is a valid question as to whether or not the dogs were provoked!) This execution will soon take place, unless it already happened today..... and as of yesterday, the owner, Karen, was not even allowed into animal services to say goodbye to her furbabies. This big, brave organization even sent employees home and closed their doors Wednesday because of their ridiculous fear of some kind of retaliation!! I certainly hope the judges, county attorney, teenager bitten, and his parents are finally happy about this joke of justice.... the death of 2 dogs who spent their lives giving love and comfort to human beings! Unlike the humans beings involved in this death sentence, who have no forgiveness in their hearts.. Buck and Bill would, I feel certain, forgive each of them; and at the same time, probably turn forgiving eyes and wagging tails toward all of the humans responsible for locking them up for more than a year, rarely seeing their mama. But then, thats the way dogs are, isnt it? Forgiving; Never holding a grudge; Faithful; Loyal; Loving; Expecting and demanding nothing, while totally devoting their pure hearts and warm fur bodies to only two things: Loving and Protecting their human(s). Bless you, precious Buck and precious Bill... right now, Im ashamed, not only, of where I live... but also, to be a human being. God has his hands on the sweet fur of you both!
