Im awake. . .im breathing. . .im alive. I may have lost my right breast but the nasty-cruel lump is out. I dont really check my breast, but for some reason, i just did one tues pm and was surprised to find a lump on my right breast. Wasnt sure if i will tell it to my husband, its been barely a month since he lost his mom, pain is still raw that i dont want to add up. But he has to know, afterall he is my husband and we made a bow before god to be with each other at all times. So, i did find a courage of telling him, then he himself made an appointment for me to see my GP. From then on, ive been to a series of check ups, screenings and all sorts of lab tests. Our month of june was a roller coaster ride. I will cry myself to sleep just to wake up next morning to find myself crying again. While i silently asked for prayers from friends, i have to keep the truth from my parents. My mom is still in chemo due to ovarian cancer and i dont want to cause another stress for her. And so early this afternoon, i had mastectomy. Do i feel a lesser woman with only 1 breast? No, it didnt make any difference. My kids need me more than i need a set of breasts. I am sore but otherwise ok. If theres anything good about this, it made realize that i am blessed with frends. I hope by next week i can safely say that i am cancer free. While im waiting for the result of the biopsy of the mass and lymph nodes taken out from me, i will trust god on what lies ahead. I am not posting this to draw attention or mercy. I want to encourage everyone to know ur body, listen to what it is saying. If theres anything that u think is not normal, do not guess nor seek answer from the internet, consult ur doctor. Early detection is the best cure for cancer. To all my frends, workmates and adoptive family here in aus, i cudnt thank u enough for praying with me and for me. Thank you so much
