Im back...thank you to you ALL who supported me in prayer and financially!! My mission trip was awesome...HOT...but soooo awesome!! May God be glorified! I spent a week in my backyard. Well not literally...but very close! Our church supports Sacred Road mission which is on the Yakama Indian Resevation. And even though it is only an hour away, it truly is a mission field! Our team of 13 members joined 3 other teams from the Seattle area to work together on several projects throughout each day and 2 Kids Club every afternoon. One team spent their week in White Swan with about 50 children. Our team (we were with a group from Kent, WA) spent our Club time in Wapato with about 60 kids. Even with the triple digit weather, NO ONE complained! And smiles were abound! In the mornings and early afternoons, the teams worked on community projects. One team was re-roofing and painting an entire house. Other teams spent time working on Hope Fellowship, trying to finish up the final touches to the outside of their building. (Siding, paint/sealing on the deck and building, building fences & terraces, digging gravel and making bus parking lot) Our team spent their mornings at Hope Fellowship...and I was blessed with getting to use the gifts God has given me!! (Although I felt a little guilty, because I was INSIDE) I was able to work with the Childrens Ministries team from Hope Fellowship! I not only got to help them organize their new classrooms, but was able to help get their crafts set and ready for Childrens Church/Sunday School for the months of August and Sept.! I was smiling the whole week!!! I also was allowed to lead the crafts for our Kids Club, every day. What a joy to see these children politely ask if they could make something...and then to see their smiles and answers their questions, it was such a blessing! I was saddened to hear about the bitterness (well justified, but still hard) the Native Americans have towards White man and especially Christians! But Im praying that as they see the work and LOVE that Sacred Road brings to them, they will soften their hearts and allow Christ into them! Well, if youre still reading this, I want to thank you for letting me share! And you can look up Sacred Road on Facebook for pictures!
