Im currently making the voting process in Excel, and because of the large numbers of suggestions this term, Im having to cut a few to make the voting process work nicely (i.e. 16 suggestions per slot works fine, but 17 and up means that theres a 5-tier voting tree, which is really awkward to work with and takes FOREVER - last terms voting took 90 minutes with an average of 14 per slot). Therefore, Im removing some of the less suitable or more awkward suggestions. Youre still free to suggest these things in future, and if theyre cut from this terms voting Ill make sure to NOT cut them next term, but these decisions are final and are made for the good of everyone involved in the already lengthy process. As it stands after this, every slot is at the maximum capacity of 16. Slot 1 removals: Glasslip Nisekoi Slot 3 removals (there were 20 suggestions, I had to pick the least suitable 4): Mushishi Aldnoah Zero Knights of Sidonia Majin tantei Nougami Neuro Re: why shows were cut. Glasslip - confirmed as a troll suggestion. Thanks guys. Nisekoi - awkward length. I had to cut 2 shows, and because of the length i cant really justify keeping it in, since it screws up the whole process anyway. Mushishi - pretty much everyone I know whos watched this has said that it isnt society viewing. Its too calm - to the point of being almost sleep inducing, and no-one wants to watch 4 episodes at a time. It would be a disservice to the show to force it in such great quantities. Aldnoah Zero - confirmed as split-cour, is finishing in January. Knights of Sidonia - this was a difficult one. From *many* reviews of this show, it appears that it rather loses its way, not in terms of quality, but in terms of being slot 3. Apparently (though youre free to debate this) it becomes essentially an action/harem show about two thirds through... but here is the real issue: while I fully accept that CG has a place in Anime, episode 11 has been the subject of some light debate between reviewers over whether it needs an epilepsy warning, and pretty much every tumblr gif now comes with one. By this, they mean that the framerate/bloom combo in some of the later laser-fights caused some issues and headaches and i dont wanna chance it, since well be watching 4 eps at a time in a dark room. Accuse me of hating on CG all you like (particularly after marks last comment in the con sign up group), but Im not risking a seizure. With the combination of these plot issues and a potential epilepsy warning, this is being removed, at least for this terms voting. Majin tantei Nougami neuro - not removed, simply put in slot 2 instead. Not really dark enough for slot 3, especially when Attack on titan is in 2. Hope this is okay. To clarify, these shows have only been removed because of timing issues with voting and again, anything removed here without proper reason (i.e. mushishi/aldnoah zero) WILL be included (for definite) in next terms voting. Theyll have a good chance to be shown later in the year, but were (the committee) going to come up with some new suggestion filters to limit how many suggestions we get. :P
