Im doing full reviews of all the Best Picture nominees in anticipation of the eighty-somethingth Royal Academy Awards sponsored by Oscar. AMERICAN HUSTLE: American Hustle was directed by David O. Russell and stars Christian Slater, Amy Adams, Jennifer Lawrence and Hangover Part 4. I have absolutely no idea how this got nominated for best picture ahead of Inside Llewyn Davis or even Frozen. This appears to be at first glance an homage to Marty (He prefers I call him Marty) Scorsese but by the end it seems more to be a parody of Martys (He prefers I say Martys instead of Marties) films. The dialogue is unfunny, the acting is over the top, the plot isnt as smart as it thinks it is, as I saw the twist coming a mile off, and I just plain flat out dont like Hangover Part 5. The only redeeming feature of this feature is the cameo appearance of Louis C.K who in spite of the script is pretty funny in it. In conclusion, I give American Hustle: 2 amazing Jeremy Renner Hairstyles out of 5.
