Im feeling so overwhelmed today. I dont know what happened to my city. The government overreach is breathtaking. Here are just the top three. Last week, they spent time in city hall discussing what they will allow us to put on our own property. They decided that it was only permissible for us to have decorative fencing in the front. (mayor couldnt understand why anyone would want a dog in their front yard... and assumed that if we had kids when they were grown we would automatically put a decorative fence in the yard) They are taking our property, taking down our trees, and putting a bike path in on our street. (you know for the four bikers we have in town) The poor businesses are up in arms over it. They will have to remove their signs. Now we will have a bike path in our front yard to go with our decorative fence. Then the gestapo homeowner ordinance, where the city thinks they can control what happens in our own homes. Making sure there are locks on our windows, ventilation in our bathrooms, enough square footage for our family. Ive just had it. You put out one fire to see three more starting. I think thats planned. Keep them busy fighting one ordiance and we will pass three more without them knowing. This was all in the Comprehensive plan they just passed last week. (that they said was only suggestions for our community) Bologna. I hope every one of these people who support this are primaried out. Im losing the town that I love. I bet half of Market St. doesnt know they are about to lose their property. I am trying to keep joy. I am trying hard. Someone tells me Christmas is around the corner. I really dont care this year. Im overwhelmed. Trying to keep joy.
