Im finding it relatively difficult to show those who swing to the conservative side of politics the conservative nature of solar power. Such folks tend to see all green technology as the domain of liberals and therefore senseless. There is a line in Lukes Gospel where Christ says, Who then is the faithful and sensible steward, whom his master will put in charge of his servants, to give them their rations at the proper time? It is not surprising that rationing is sensible according to God. Dont eat all the winter food at the beginning of the winter. Dont spend money at a faster rate than you can make it. These are conservative values. So how then is it supposed to be sensible to use fossil fuel at a rate a million times faster than nature replenishes it and twice as fast as we have historically been able to find it? Solar energy is not a liberal technology. It is essentially highly conservative. It is not just for tree-huggers. It is for anyone anywhere on the political spectrum bold enough to stop thinking like an idiot.
