Im glad you can be a Christian without being religious. I say this even though the religious crowd has to be the smartest segment of our population (or at least they think so). For just a minute lets think about how smart this group is. They have already been able to tell us through The Christian News Network that Allen Speegle and his family are false teachers even though it is impossible that they have seen anymore than the 2 minute clip or the commercial now being aired on TLC. They can tell us if people are going to Heaven or hell with a quick glance to see if they have a tattoo or an extra whole in their ear. Isnt it neat that they dont have to examine the heart and determine if we have accepted Jesus as our Savior? Its extremely impressive how they can determine what type of person a total stranger is without looking at the many years behind them and the influence they have had on others. I really like the quickness they use to determine that a new church that does things differently is a cult even though they have never talked to the church leaders or even ask how many people have been saved or drawn closer to God because of the influence of this church. Now with the above said I have to finish with a word for the self righteous religious leaders across our county. Sunday when you enter the perfect church, The church that has it all together and has special attention from God because its your church and you have to be right. Please take a look around you at the empty seats. Where are all the members in your perfect church? The answers are many but here are a few. Several families left because of your judgement on them. You really never liked what they would wear to church on Sunday. It was only a pair of jeans but you didnt approve. Some families left because there was no joy and excitement in the worship service. Many families left because there were no activities for their kids because its your belief that you shouldt have to use sports or youth trips in order to encourage the youth to come. A few families left because they were made to feel as if they were the only ones in the church with problems. The only ones who werent able to live the perfect religious life. Other families left for a variety of reasons but thats fine because as you say it was good enough for your Grandpa, it was good enough for your Dad and good enough for you so theres no need to change things now. Where did these people go? They are attending a church where there is fun and excitement in the worship service. They are now going to a church where they are loved even though they are far from perfect. They are welcome at the church in a pair of jeans or a tailor made suit and they arent judged according to the cost of their clothes. The church they now attend has a youth pastor that loves and is interested in their children even with their piercings and tattoos. He loves them and wants to help mold their life simply because they are people. The church they now attend did change over time. They adapted to the quickly changing world. The message of God giving his only son to die on the cross for our sins is exactly as it was years ago and will NEVER change but the method of reaching people has changed. These churches arent cults, they arent preaching a false message. These churches LOVE people. They want people to feel welcome no matter their circumstance. Its easy to love people after they accept Jesus but these churches also love you on your way to finding Jesus. Im proud to say I attend a church who loves you where you are at. Simply said Desperation Church much like Movement Church LOVES people.
