Im going out of my mind! (yeah I know...short trip) The dog in the rental next door has been howling. crying and barking constantly since Friday afternoon when they left it in the house alone....It was howling till after 2am Fri night when I finally fell asleep, I woke up around 7am...still howling and crying....around lunchtime I finally called the police which I was told to do about 2 weeks ago when I went to the station about it then...I was also given the animal rescue #...so I messaged them...they told me it wasnt a humane issue and to call the police...sigh so after 2 weeks...yesterday was the worst....the police came and said they cant do anything until the people are at home ....and to call them when we see someone there...and to call the landlord cause the dog was in the house all that time...OK, the police left (nice man, by the way) and about 5 min later...someone let the dog outside the back door (where it continued to bark)...but there was no car in front of the house just a strange one across the street but before I could even pick up my phone and dial, that car was gone and the dog was in the house again...havent seen anyone at the house since and the dog continued the barking and crying....Last night it went on ALL night and I woke up before 6am this morning and it is still howling and crying and barking....I am not the only person that called the police...so did the neighbor that lives on the other side of their house....Its insane when an animal is left for all that time and it is crying and carrying on and we can hear it in our house even with the tvs and music on.....That poor animal is alone and probably very lonely . I just dont understand why someone would even get a dog if they werent going to spend any time with it???? I even took somones advice a few weeks ago, about offering to take the dog for a walk for them...I waited till the dog was outside barking and carrying on because I knew someone was home then, and I went over and knocked on the door...No one would answer but the dog was taken back into the house...a few minutes later...they left and then the dog started crying again...This is so sad ...and now its turning into a nightmare for everyone who lives next to them because we cant sleep or even enjoy being in our own house....And then there is the dog...what kind of lonely existence does it have??? So when does this become a HUMANE issue??? Sorry for the rant but I am so tired and crabby ...I could just ...S C R E A M !!!!!
