Im going to give in to a current trend which is currently spreading around facebook, and that is posting facts (its up to you whether or not you find them interesting) about oneself, onto ones Facebook. I got 11 from Takiwai Russell-Camp! Here are 11 facts about me. 1- I dont go anywhere without my Big Brown Bag 2- I inherited the Big Brown Bag from my late grandfather. 3- I sleep in loose, black, cotton Pyjamas most nights, and I wear a headscarf before bed so I dont have to deal with having to do anything about it. 4- I walk EVERY Saturday, without fail, to city park, where I reflect on the past week and plan the week ahead. 5- I keep a journal, into which I deposit all my thoughts and feelings. If youve ever hurt me, If youve made me smile, if youve ever betrayed me or if youve ever helped me when ive needed help- then chances are, you are probably mentioned somewhere in one of my journals. 6- I have naturally curly hair, which I tease into a high bouffant, and hold in place with hair spray. I also colour my hair blue-black, which I have done for years. My hairstyle is partially inspired by the famous bouffant of Montserrat Caballe. 7- Apart from the time I shaved my hair off, and the time I bleached my hair silver- I have more or less maintained the EXACT same hairstyle for 5 years. 8- I was engaged this time last year. October 31st would have been 4 years together. Ive only just come to terms with being alone, and I dont think I will ever be able to look at anyone, the way I used to look at him. First love never dies. 9- I am a keen amateur songwriter and composer. I have written upwards of 100 songs and compositions. Many of these songs have ended up at the bottom of a pile of sheet music. Many of these pieces are incomplete. Love without Words, is a piano composition I started writing for my former partner, more than 3 years ago. From time to time (as recently as last month, In fact) I make revisions to it. I wanted to write something that captured the moment when we lived in the passion of our romance. That moment has passed and so the song can never be complete. It is now a cacophony. 10- I had an operation on my nose to correct a deviation and treat an infection, in 2012. Not only did the operation effect the appearance of the nose, it also negatively altered the sound of my singing voice. 11- I had wanted to be an Opera singer. I received a scholarship for private study with one of NZs foremost tenors of Opera and Oratorio. After my studies were complete- I sang in musical theatre and cabaret, in piano bars around Auckland, and as a singer of original and unusual songs. The pursuit of Operatic stardom ended.
