Im going to put as positive a spin on this as I can. I had a Blue Cross Healthcare policy, it cost $1,400 per month for my family. The President pushed a law through that he promised would lower our health insurance premiums and we could even keep our policy and doctors. Right after Obamacare was passed into law, our premiums jumped to $1,700. We had to switch to a lesser plan, this one was with Oxford, but it got us back to $1,400. That is, until Oxford raised it to $1,700. We switched again, to a lesser plan, this time it was with Emblem Health, and got us back to $1,400. Today we got the notice that were getting bumped up to $1,800. As usual, the President was wrong, the NY Times was wrong too. The NY Times predicted that premiums in NY would be slashed by 50%. Were about out of options for insurance companies; were stuck with very few insurance companies because the government doesnt allow anyone to shop outside of their state. The bright side is, I get to work seven days a week to pay for it. Oh yeah, my health plan hasnt been the only thing thats been downgraded. Our local Hospital is being downgraded too, to ambulatory care (a giant doc in the box). Gee thanks.
