Im going to say something and I hope I dont get anyone upset because that is by no means my intentions. Why is it that children who have died of cancer do not get recognized as much as the ones still fighting or survivors? Maybe Im wrong but from what I have seen they dont. You dont see the children who lost their battle being ambassadors or honored children for pediatric cancer organizations. You dont see them in calanders. Why not? Is it too sad? Because it wont sell? So they cant physically be here but it doesnt mean they are any less important. It doesnt mean their parents cant speak on their behalf. My child never got the chance to be a voice in this battle. ..I was that for him, and I will always be that for him. But this is the sad truth of pediatric cancer. Children DIE! Just because its sad doesnt mean we should ignore it. Is This not what we are trying to prevent.... death? As the parents of children who could no longer win this battle I feel we are left to make them known. Children who have gone deserve to be the face of pediatric cancer just as much as those still fighting or who have survived. Again. ... Maybe Im wrong. Maybe this came across rude and for that I apologize. But I will never apologize for standing up for what I believe in and for being the voice of my child who DIED!
