Im going to use an example of a friend/client. And while her worry was the straw that broke the camels back, she isnt the only client with this concern. Calories. And why these diet fads are (pardon my French) mind f&$@ing you! If a person writing a book can make a blanket recommendation for YOUR caloric needs, dont purchase the book. If a fad diet only allows you to have 1,200 calories per day, dont participate. If they tell you to only eat 1,000 calories plus take crazy shots to receive additional vitamins, RUN. Your caloric needs are based on YOUR body weight, YOUR bmi and YOUR activity level. For instance, my BMR (basil metabolic rate, the amount of calories you burn just living) is 1,333 with zero activity. Thats what I burn if I literally lay on the couch and just survive. On a normal day my caloric need is 2,199. (I weight aprox 145lbs with a body fat % of around 22% with a moderately active lifestyle) Seems like a lot, right? These diet fad people have brain washed everyone into believing the low fat diet low calorie 100 calorie packs are good for you. When in all actuality, if you just ate REAL food, you wouldnt need to worry about your calorie count and the bullshit that comes along with it. The moral of this story is: EAT REAL FOOD. EAT LIKE A KING. ENJOY YOUR FOOD. STOP FAD DIETS.
