Im going to write this for the last time..... If you drive a modified classic V1-V4 turbo impreza please do not come to me asking if the chipped ECU you have just paid bugger all for can be used in your car. I am fed up of giving the same answer time and time again, for many years now. Without knowing the mods or fuel octane the ECU was intended for it makes it impossible for me or anyone else to say yes or no. Unless you hook up various bits of equipment to the car to understand how the engine is behaving under that ECUs control you wont have a clue. If i say yes to you, go ahead, itll be just fine, and your car blows up a week or two later the first person you are going to blame is me so please dont ask because being ignored can offend and i have no wish to offend anyone. Equally and as a matter of principle coupled with concern for your car and your pocket i wouldnt recommend it anyway. If you buy a Subaru Impreza that has already been modified or you have modified it yourself and it hasnt been remapped you should get it remapped properly as soon as you can. Im not trying to scare you or make any money off you because i dont care where you go to have it done. All i know is experience tells me that it should be done properly one way or another otherwise it will eventually cost you financially. If you cannot afford to get it mapped for whatever reason then please dont buy a Subaru modified or not. Dont buy an unmodified Subaru if you are going to mod it and buy a chipped ECU because that method of doing things is very dodgy practice. Before you buy, do your research, make sure you can afford it and thereafter if all is well....... Get it remapped!! From now on if you ask the above question you will be ignored, taken off my friends list or blocked altogether.
