Im gonna turn over a new leaf, and it really kind of started tonight. In the past, Ive deliberately and regularly avoided eye contact and conversation in public with many people I know. Its not that I dont like these people, and heck, I might have done it to you. Its just that Im by nature an introvert and sometimes cynical. But thats going to change. So from now on, if you see me coming through the door in a public place Ill be looking for familiar faces. I may not remember names, but Im going to ask. And Im going to shake your hand and ask how its been. Fair warning: this is going to happen so If you dont like me or dont want to talk for whatever reason, you best start running when you see me scanning the room. If we make eye contact youre toast.
