Im grateful for the 24 years I was privileged to serve as a pastor in the ELCA. It was not my choice nor was I advised that I would be dropped this week from the ELCA roster. I will appeal this but the reality is that bishops have authority. I am confident that I am serving where God would have me so I have no regrets. I look back with gratitude on these 24 years and the many, many friends Ive met along the way starting with seminary in Chicago and as a missionary in Japan before that. Maywood, Lake Zurich, Glenview, Decorah, Cresco, Garnavillo. Anchorage, Melbourne--each hold a special place in my heart, lots of great memories. Special gratitude for those parishioners who have welcomed my ministry, flawed as it is, and have forgiven my many foibles. God bless you all and may God bless the people and the work of the ELCA, my spiritual home.
