Im having the hardest time staying optimistic these days. From the start of this year I could feel something brooding, and its cacophony wont stop ringing in the deepest part of my being. We are parading a plastic land mass bigger than Texas in the middle of the ocean, yet it still grows by the day. A whirlwind of violent wars (that we Americans cant even comprehend) rampages the lifes of our fellow brothers and sisters; and within our borders we still continue to struggle with equality and simple human rights. Does the color we see with our eyes, or the gender we perceive with our minds really translate in to such heinous acts of cruelty? Why do we insist to defy our intuition and pump food with shit it doesnt need? Why do we willingly allow our food system to be manipulated for the worst when we could support the few that struggle to maintain the old ancient ways of proper land stewardship? Why do we find it easier to pollute than recycle? Why do we find it easier to consume rather than replenish? Why do we have more conversations fueled with gossip than intelligence? Why do we always want MORE? Why do we ignore instead of take action? Why do we know more about celebrities than our selves? Why, why, why??
