Im honestly more in line with democratic beliefs but I dont play that pushover stuff.. That some dems tend to play And I dont play that disregard black folks and poor folks till its election time stuff either... Right now the black vote is the equivalent of a political booty call! It is exactly what they needed when they needed it & Its presumed that they will get it if they call us up... No matter how late in the night it is. Now dont assume that we arent intelligent either we know why we dont want McDaniel in the race. If Cochran pulls it out... Dont think that his feet wont be held to the fire too (what an awful term) but he will definitely owe the progressive thinkers and black voters that thought outside the box on this one. Sure he has given fed govt dollars to MS... This is wonderful... But there are very specific issues at play that I can not and will not celebrate... You voted against healthcare reform... Why? (Because you wanted to appear conservative enough to your base... Only to find out that it isnt nearly conservative enough for the hyper conservative portion of your constituency). I think the one thing that a lot of republicans did in adopting many of the tea party ideologies back in 2008 is... Forgot how to think independent of that mentality... They were sold on it... But now the monster that they created is coming back to eat them... & they didnt see that part coming... So if we manage to put out a fire that they started because they were upset about President Obama being elected and their stronghold on the power structure being compromised (at least from a perception standpoint)... Then Thad needs to be ready willing And able to hear the cries for help of the same people he cried to for help. If he wins the first thing he or the dems need to do is reach out to black folks & progressives across this state to hear their concerns ... Dont think it was free... And dont assume that you getting it just because you got it before... If you want this vote... Work for it.
