Im in the middle of writing new songs for a February concert entitled Songs of Love and Passion. Joining me are several poets and lyricists - most of them very much alive! My wife Judith Weinstock has been writing lyrics with me for many years. Poets Mitch Levenberg and Leslie Prosterman are friends, and Carole Langille is a friend-of-a-friend. These are all well-published writers. I filched some lyrics from Woody Guthrie that Woody never set to music himself. I found a poem by Charles Bukowski, Americas barroom poet-laureate, that I believe is perfect for my compositional style. Singing with the Broken Reeders (schedule permitting) will be Sofia Ribeiro.
