Im in the process of replacing most of my queens in the Fall, - TopicsExpress

Im in the process of replacing most of my queens in the Fall, rather than in the Spring. The availability of queens and time made this an easy decision. This hive has bees that are more aggressive than what is the norm and a good candidate for an early queen replacement. After a couple of days, I will return to the hive, remove the screen cage, take out the cork plugging her release hole and place a tube full of soft candy in the cages hole. The bees will eat though the candy and release the new queen. This helps in the introduction process and if all goes well, the hive will accept their new queen. If not, the process starts over again.
