Im in to deep, Lost perspective Hard to remember whats important Ive been sitting in the classroom too long Im starting to think like them ...again Ive been through this before Fighting to find my identity The wall I dismantled are coming back up again Gotta protect my spirit The hounds of colonialism have caught my scent Shackles broken, but cuffs remain I returned to the land to listen like grandma taught me the plants spoke They reminded me how to use them They reminded me to give thanks They told me, we have been waiting, its good to see you again brother They taught me how to use their medicine to heal the generations of traumas Ive been carrying since birth They tell me the world is changing That some wont make it And as the sun drift behind the western hills they say, you know your responsibility, as we know ours. We have lived up to our responsibility, now its time for you to live up to yours. They healed me in my time of need Gifts given by the creator We human animals have been give gifts and it is our responsibility to care for all things. Now, more then ever we need to live up to our responsibility.
