Im just $20 short of my fundraising goal for Best Buddies Tennessee 5k race this Saturday. As you may know, Susan Sammer has two kids with special needs, so this is very close to my heart. In fact, well be pushing her daughter Emma in her chair as we race. Best Buddies is made up of volunteers who create opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The programs main purpose is to allow volunteers to be paired up with a buddy with a disability and provide them with a friend and mentor. The program also supports opportunities to learn social skills and job training so these folks may be more able to be included in society and to able to work on being independent. Thanks to those of you who have already given their support. If you would like to help support Best Buddies by contributing to the funds Ive raised, you can do so here.
