Im knee deep in the rewrite of The Hidden Hero, and I have discovered a few powerful truths. 1) No one element makes a great story. It takes a combination of compelling, believable characters, a setting that people would want to visit, and a plot that keeps them guessing and wanting to turn the next page. 2) No one passage or chapter from a previous draft of the story is so good that it cannot be improved. 3) Finding the time and energy to write well is not easy when you are working full time. I am presently through Chapter 7 of the rewrite. I made quite a bit of progress this weekend, with more to come tonight, I hope. With the holidays now officially over, I am going to be taking another social media sabbatical while I dedicate my time and energy to getting this book done in the next couple of months. So please forgive me if I miss some birthdays or important events, or if I fail to like or comment on a great post or picture. I may slip on to check the newsfeed now and then, or post a picture or three, but I wont be very active again until I have a completed second draft of the novel in hand. Its time to get truly focused on the end result of this journey. Namaste!
