Im leaving for Achill Island, Co. Mayo, Ireland on June 11th, Ill be staying there until mid-August. Taking part of Janes Irish with me - Ive applied to join Mayo Craftworks, a cooperative of Co. Mayo original crafters who do high end work and are supported in part by the National Museum of Country Life. Fingers crossed that theyll have me. The sewing machine is packed, also the Lizzies and PJs, table runners and Christmas Tree Skirts, sewing and embroidery threads and needles and scissors….. its 70 miles from Achill Island to the nearest sewing shop! Wish me luck. Ahh, sure… going to be an interesting two months, to say the least. Also have plans to tell stories at the Inishbiggle Festival, if only I can get hold of Tom Calvey.
