Im looking at and reading everything I can find about the length - TopicsExpress

Im looking at and reading everything I can find about the length of doseage time and that everything is based on IDSA guidelines. Why cant a really caring and sincere doctor treat his/her patients for a variety of illnesses, every two weeks or every other month? Im beginning to think thats why I am not as symtomatic as others here. Every few months I would be seen at my doctor for sinusitis, chronic bronchitis and usually received any one of the most common antibiotics; one that starts with Z. Then I go because I am coughing a lot, tired, brain fog, aches etc and tests are positive for Lyme and Mono. I get prescription for Doxycycline before the bloodwork leaves the office. I believe my family doctor and his staff knew exactly what they were doing, and because of all the other medications I had been taking, my Lyme was knocked back within 3-4 months. I have only been to one specialist, who was an infectious disease specialist. I needed to be cleared for work, and all he did was read a recent lab report. Youre fine, heres your release for returning to work. It might be a good idea to find a family doctor who listens, has a good raport with patients and follows his instincts when diagnosing. The more often we can get antibiotics for other stuff might be useful in long run for Lyme? This is my non medical, non scientific view.
