Im looking for advice on how to vote in the DC Mayors race. Normally, it would be easy as I always support the nominee of the Democratic Party. And even though I didnt vote for her in the primary, I think Muriel Bowser is a fine person and would be a good Mayor for our city. The fact that she has support from many of my friends whose judgment I trust means a great deal. Ive met David Catania and found him to be smart, reasonable and effective. I also thought he did well in the debates. I dont really care that he didnt support the building of the new baseball stadium and, as for his temperament issues, none of the examples Ive read make him sound like a bully so much as someone who doesnt easily bear fools. That said, Im a Democrat for a reason. And while I suspect David Catania is a closeted Democrat who just didnt want to compete with all the candidates who ran in the primary, I dont like voting for Diet Dems. I prefer the real thing. The Washington Posts endorsement of Bowser surprisingly made me like Catania more. I also found this quote from Ward 1 Councilman Jim Graham to be telling “One gets things done with a few broken bones (Catania), and the other doesnt get things done (Bowser).” Hmmmm.... #Confused
