Im looking forward to 2015. But I had a lot of good things happen in 2014. perhaps the best was, I made some great new friends in Nashville, and got re-acquainted (sp) with some old friends too. This video, which i really like a lot, is from one of the first jams I attended in Nashville. It features keyboardist Larry van Loon, bassist Geoff Newhall, drummer Jim Klingler, guitarist Pat Murphy, with whom I attended 10th grade in 1970 at Hillsboro High School, and me. If Im correct, some excellent guitarists were in the 10th grade at Hillsboro in the spring of 1970. The whole world knows awesome brother Billy Crain, his bro the late great Tommy was in 11th grade then, I think? Many folks know that Stephen Anderson is one of the best guitarists in Nashville... Gary Serkin is keeping Hendrix memory alive... Tom Manning is a country star... and Pat Murphy kicks ass too, as he shows on this video! Are there others? Larry, Geoff and Jim are among the many great new friends I made in Nashville this year. Theyve been very nice to me, and its humbling. In this video, we all kick ass, the whole tune. When its over, at the end of the video, you can tell we all really enjoyed it... kinda special. These guys made me feel very welcome in their crew, and I am overwhelmingly grateful for their kindness, and look forward to shaking the earth a little more with some more tough rocking blues-ish music in 2015. Gotta mention wonderful Jacque Lynn Schultz who made this video, a very sweet lady... pretty hot too! And so many others who have just been super nice to a newcomer...
