Im not a Pipe Collector, Im a Pipe Smoker who loves Pipes. With this attitude I feel free to choose whatever Pipe calls out to me. It doesnt matter what serial number, size, series or condition - if I like the pipe and I can afford it - its mine. If needs some work and has a good provenance/pedigree ditto. In fact, I take great pleasure in taking a beat up old thing and making it look attractive again. Most of my pipes have flaws and quite frankly not collectable - but I keep the ones I love to smoke and the rest I move on - hopefully in better shape than I received them. You just cant get too neurotic over something that is supposed to give you pleasure. Bottom line - Pipes are meant to be smoked - unless your running a small museum why sweat it. Here is a no name Pick Axe made in Denmark with the stamp II on it. If II means Second I dont see anything that would down grade this pipe. The Seller said he thought Karl Erik might have designed this one - but with no name on whos to say.
