Im not a huge fan of countering poor body image with yet more images of womens bodies. Those Marilyn Monroe THIS is more attractive than THIS memes drive me nuts - frankly, I have more chance of starving myself to look like Kate Moss than I do waking up one day to look like a Marilyn or a Jayne. Just stop talking about womens bodies altogether! Nothing makes one better or worse than the other, and the least important aspect of the situation is which one an homogenised group of men is supposed to prefer (because amazingly, men are actually all individuals with a multitude of different tastes, some of which are wildly different from each other EVEN WHEN FELT BY THE SAME MAN). But having got that little disclaimer out of the way, I do think this is an interesting comparison and it might be helpful for some people to see the enormous amount of time and tedious effort that goes into making people look effortlessly beautiful with make up on. I never even knew half of this contouring stuff existed! I cant imagine having that much interest in spending time doing it but I can appreciate that its an art form for those who do.
