Im not a politician. Im far too thin-skinned, too transparent, too emotions-on-my-sleeve. But at some point, you have to take a stand for what you believe in. You have to out on a limb if you want to make a difference. Ive backed all kinds of people with the courage to do that; now its my turn, albeit on a smaller stage. There are so many great Democrats in our county. They deserve far better leadership than what we have now. They deserve leaders who put the people of the party first & not their own positions of power. This party does not represent the full range of people in the county; that must change. My goal isnt to be The Leader but to work with Dems & our allies to move forward on progressive issues. Ive spelled out more details at chair.tabarnhart.net. One thing you can expect from me, and this is a part of the job Ill have no trouble with: I will speak out. I will speak out for our party as a force for progressive change, and not just a little fish in a big pond trying to pretend its relevant just because of its name.
