Im not certain that I completely agree with his deduction of cause - TopicsExpress

Im not certain that I completely agree with his deduction of cause and effect here, but having recently experienced the extreme frustration of attempting to communicate with someone like those he talks about in this article, I can unequivocally agree that if someone is unable or unwilling to attempt to modify the way they communicate with you, and basically says, This is Who I Am, and this is how I communicate, and accept me or get out of my life, that my choice will invariably be to cease attempts to communicate. Accepting someone sometimes means that you accept that they are how and who they are, but that it is far healthier to limit or eliminate the contact you have with them. Refusing to engage in destructive or hurtful discussions does NOT mean you do not accept them! It actually indicates that you DO accept that they are who and how they are, and subsequently, have made healthy choices and boundaries for yourself, based on that reality. All healthy relationships have to have some degree of cooperation, not just one person making rigid rules about how you must talk to them and how you must behave, and crying, you dont accept me as I am! when you refuse to agree to allow them control your interactions.
