Im not losing weight. Im doing all the right things. Im working out and I eat good but nothing is changing. What am I doing wrong? I get asked this question ALL the time. And the answer is really quite simple (despite the industrys attempts at making you think otherwise): weight loss comes down to one thing, creating a caloric deficit. Burning more calories than you consume. The greater the deficit the greater the loss. Likewise, a surplus of calories will cause us to gain weight. The most common cause of people not losing weight when they think they should be is unaccounted for calories...be it bites, licks and tastes here and there or a latte or 2 or 3 a day, happy hour after work once or twice a week..this stuff all adds up and it adds up real quick, especially those liquid calories...we seem to forget those actually count. ;) If you feel like youre stuck and youre about ready to start searching for the latest and greatest diet or magic pill I would recommend to take an accurate lot if everything that you put in your mouth for a week. Youll probably notice some sneaky calories in there and find whats holding you back. You dont need to get on the paleo, Atkins, Whole 30, 80/10/10 or other trendy diet. Whole foods, moderation, portion control. I know, it sounds too easy, doesnt it? :)
