Im not normally one to complain about the cops, but this seems - TopicsExpress

Im not normally one to complain about the cops, but this seems worth mention: After the bar tonight, I was in Burger King (yes, Im shitty) when a woman aggressively pounded on the window. I went outside and found her already on the phone, reporting that she was assaulted. While talking to the police, she mentioned that she could still see the man and described him. The man she was describing was across the street and so I hurried after him. Before I could catch up, he entered an apartment building. The door was glass and I saw that the apartment he entered was on the first floor. I went back to the woman, gave her that info, and she relayed it to the police. We waited. Two cop cars happened by the area, sirens off. We waved at them wildly. They drove away. She called again. We noticed at this time there was an OPP officer standing near by, guarding some TTC workers as they did construction. I ran across the street and informed the officer of the situation and she told me that she was currently being paid by the TTC and couldnt leave her post. She wouldnt leave the TTC workers, who were clearly safe at the time, to check on someone who had been assaulted across the street. Couldnt be bothered to track down the attacker who was also less than a block away. A whole crime with all the odds and ends existing within an intersection and an officer of the law refused to help. She said help would probably be along soon.
