Im not one for sharing personal info via facebook, but I figured this was an important life announcement that I have yet to share with everyone. I have recently taken on the role of an AmeriCorps member! What this means is that for a year, I will serve as a community outreach specialist/instructor for the Grand Rapids community. My role specifically is to help others become ready for employment and how to find it. Ill be teaching courses to the mentally ill, impoverished, young, and any community member that needs employment assistance. Unfortunately, I will live at poverty level (under $12,000 per year). I dont really mind tho as the work is extremely rewarding. Every day I get to meet new people that just need that little extra push. The smiles and achievements those people make from my assistance is completely worth it and so inspiring. I am super excited to have the opportunity to serve for my community and actively help it become a better place! :D
