Im not one to make a big deal out of things, especially publicly, but apparently I need to make something a bit more clear for the people in this town, focusing on those that are close to me, sadly. First of all, the gentlemen that is is my profile picture is not my boyfriend; he is one of my best friends, and the first friend I made at Berea. Hes black, Im white. Wow, get with the 21st century! Secondly, what if he was my significant other?! Who I chose to be with is MY decision, regardless if theyre purple, yellow, orange, or especially dark skinned. I am so disgusted to think that I still live in a country, and especially my own town, that cannot accept interracial relationships. And it appals me even more that people try to pin it on religion. Im sorry, but if you think God did not make white people to be with black people, or any other race for that matter, then we are definitely believing in a different God. So, in short, if you are concerned that Im seeing someone of another race, get bigger problems to worry about! Especially to those I love... Worry whether Im with a decent man rather than the pigment of his skin.
