Im not saying to try this but Im telling you it worked for me. REPEAT... Im not saying to try this but it worked for me. Yesterday I told you I got a call from my wireless carrier because of an exorbitant amount of data usage on my eldest daughters line. It was crazy. I figured with her at camp for a week, things got out of hand. Nope. After examining her phone, I noticed she was not on the home wifi. Worse yet, the wifi on her phone no longer could even be turned on...off to google I went. Turns out there was a major software error that Apple still has not fixed. I tried resetting the phone, the network settings, restoring the phone...nada. So essentially the data overage was caused by a faulty software update. After extreme frustration, I came across this guys video. Oh come on! Blowing a hair dryer in the headphone port to reset the phones wifi heat sensor? This kid is high! Like anything though, if you leave a man long enough with something... hell eventually try it. (even though there were several people who commented that they fried their phone, which, is why I said dont try this...I still, did) The phone never gave me the heat warning message...but got hot enough to where I said okay thats enough I can barely hold this thing. So, I powered it off and shook my head. About 10 minutes later I turned the phone back on and just like in the video...it worked. HOLY MOLEY, its working!! Though I am upset that this is obviously a software issue with the latest operating system update for the phone, I was more intrigued that a 20 year old kid had the fix. One more time just for posterity... I dont recommend trying this (see the comments on the video of people who kept the hairdryer on it too long)... but it worked. Thankfully I never yelled at my daughter about the data issue...and looked at the phone to realize we were the victim of the latest throng of software errors that caused her to burn up 2.7 gigs of data in less than a week....the wifi error caused by Apple in which your phones Wifi no longer works and is greyed out (so you cannot even turn it on or off). Wow! youtu.be/mK5Piz5XZVg
