Im not so sure bringing these two people with Ebola here is such a great idea. Granted, there is a very low likelihood that the virus will get out, but why take the chance? Given that there is no known cure, why run the risk of brining this across the ocean to our country, where it does not exist? Seeing as how all thats going to be done here is to provide a higher level of supportive care, it seems to me it would have made far more sense to bring this capabilities over there. If there is an experimental treatment they want to try, try it over there. Just from the logistic standpoint, look at the cost of this. Each person is being brought over separately. So a specially fully equipped and staffed jet has to fly over there, pick the first one up, fly back to the U.S., and then do it all over again. Thats a tremendous expense and waste of time. Would it not have been far better, more efficient, more expeditious, and safer to fly one time with whatever is needed, and do it there? The other thing, are the optics of this. To those over there might it not look like were pulling our people out for special treatment, and to all those left over there, theyre just S.O.L.?
