Im not sure when it became okay to just peddle by an elderly man who fell off his bike. He was at least a 1/4 mile ahead of me. Two more cyclists just went by not even looking at him. So I ran my chunky ass over to him. He was covered in mud and sweat. I helped him to a shaded area gave him a piece of gum (all I had) so his mouth wasnt so dry. Ran another 1/4 mile to get him water. Thank you get n go for giving me the cup of ice water for him. I sat with him until he felt OK to head home. I helped him home and his wife was so worried about him. Then they offered to give me a ride home. I declined but it was still a sweat gesture. They made my day... I was more than happy to help. Nothing more than a smile when he was home safe... nothing compares to that...
