Im not sure why people refuse to deny the reality of climate - TopicsExpress

Im not sure why people refuse to deny the reality of climate change but to them I have this to say. Having little else to do currently, I travel extensively and I dare those people who deny that the climate isnt changing to go to the islands of the Pacific, the islands of the Caribbean and the islands of the Indian Ocean and see the impacts of rising sea levels. Go to the mountainous regions of the Himalayas to see the retreating glaciers. Ice caps grow and ice caps shrink and the trend is for them to shrink and the Greenland ice sheet is melting which in turn will eventually shut down the Gulf Stream and if that happens the UK, deprived of its effects, will endure an era of lower temperatures. If people are still unconvinced they should go to Africa (a continent I know very well) where the steady march southwards of the Sahara desert has confronted communities in its path with a matter of life and death as food and water becomes more scarce. When youve seen this with your own eyes its difficult to deny that something is happening and its not good. I know SE Asia well and was last there very recently and Im familiar with the destructive power of typhoons. Typhoons in SE Asia have been getting steadily more powerful and frequent each year and weve seen the effects when a monster typhoon like Haiyan hits a country like the Philippines - and theres still another two months of the typhoon season to go..
