Im not sure why this is a thing. What about companies that arent owned by Christians? Why should they be shamed or boycotted for not using the word christmas and instead using holiday? Also, why do people assume that the reason for using holiday instead of christmas is to avoid offending Muslims and other non-Christians? I am more likely to believe that it is INCLUSIVE, meaning that they use holiday to encourage people of any faith (including atheists) to shop there. I dont think it is an effort to placate so much as to open welcoming arms to consumers regardless of belief. It seems unchristian to boycott something due to a policy of inclusiveness, IMO. But what do I know? Im a non-practicing Jew married to a non-practicing Protestant.
