Im not unsympathetic to people who are more susceptible than others and have to deal with a dangerous world full of disease and toxins. Its a terrifying position to have such a vulnerable child, that can be hospitalized even for the common cold. But what irks me is that all the scare factor is attributed to the unvaccinated, and neither doctors or the media seem to tell these people that they also should keep their children away from recently vaccinated children (particularly live vaccines), for a couple of weeks, as they shed and can infect the susceptible public. Some are worse than others, but all live vaccines (and even some dead ones) do it. Its right in the package inserts and on the CDCs website. The worst offenders are Pertussis (whooping cough) and Rotavirus, both of which, I assume, could be quite dangerous to this child. And being vaccinated doesnt stop a person from being an asymptomatic carrier of viruses. We ALL carry disease and are capable of spreading it! Thats why the hype about the unvaccinated spreading all the disease is bogus. We are just the ones who MAY be more likely to catch it. Not in all cases though... all the recent mumps outbreaks have affected mostly, if not ONLY, vaccinated people, just for an example.
