Im not usually a heavy poster, but when you get the bug... I find it ironic that the Cons and Libs are so polarized, that they often consider moderates as being on the other side of the spectrum. Im a Lib when Im with my Con friends and a Con when Im with my Lib friends. I feel like I can see it both ways. I watch as MSNBC and FOX News SPIN everything in a left or right twirl, while these viewers both see CNN as being on the other side. I see a move to keep some smart kids from excelling in schools. We need acceleration programs to help advance our math, engineer and other genius children in schools. Not everyone that goes on disability, food stamps or welfare stays there. Are their lifers on these programs, you bet. Does this represent the vast majority, no. It is just a perception. A few examples of fraud in any system, does not make it a fraudulent system. Do a couple of lying scientists make science a fraud, no. Anyone that is speaking out against marriage equality will find themselves on the wrong side of history. Legalize pot, it is a very American tradition and its prohibition supports an illegal underground and subjects way too many people to felonies, it fills our prisons and ruins lives. We cant afford wars of any kind, foreign or domestic. Our founding fathers would roll their eyes at our wars and our entitlement systems. Hell, theyd be upset with the Senate submitting bills to Congress. They never would have ratified the Constitution, even with the Bill of Rights if they were aware that the Feds would force the states to comply with Federal laws. Welfare is no way to live. I grew up half the time on these programs. We lost everything when my kidneys failed. Im now back on the job paying huge amounts of taxes; contributing to society. One of the biggest welfare/handout programs I can think of that hurts small business is the Federal Bankruptcy system. Funny thing is that the very poor cant afford a lawyer to enter this system. The Feds just love to forgive citizens, that get in over their heads. They forgive debts to business of all sizes; debts of huge proportions. But they wont forgive you your Fed taxes. Can you imagine having an accounts receivable for a house painting business that results in at least three letters from the government stating that customers dont have to pay their $900, $1500, and $4700 bills from the year before?
