Im not usually someone who puts family affairs on the internet because once its out there it cant be taken away or back. I got some disturbing news today my grandpa Standishs house was sold and there was a semi truck trailer sitting in the front yard. Well its true I went and seen it with my own eyes. It will have been 20yrs this year since my grandfather passed away and soon enough so will his house. So why the big deal about a house? Thats the last physical thing left of my grandpa. 5 out of 6 of his children will soon have nothing but memories. The business that he built is now a parking lot, the house is on its way out, no trinkets or momentos, not even a headstone in a cemetery. So this is my way of immortalizing my grandfather Robert Paul Standish. I remember seeing him sitting at the breakfast bar smoking, drinking a cup of coffee, playing solitaire like he always did. He always asked me if I wanted a pop in the snot box. Or if I stood to close behind a cow and thats how I got my freckles. I told him I fell in a strawberry patch. He also told me I looked just like my mother and near the end he called me by her name. You are always missed and I will always love you.
