Im noticing a trend develop in hip hop that I’m totally onboard with. The new Lil’ Wayne record “Gotti” which features the LOX inspired me to share this new discovery. Over the past couple years we’ve seen the “New School” rap artists reaching back and doing music with some of their predecessors. A quick list of examples are; ASAP Ferg and Bone Thugs Kendrick Lamar and MC 8 Wiz Khalifa and Juicy J And the list goes on. Heck even Chris Brown did a record with R. Kelly and another record with Brandy on his new album X. For so long the Hip Hop community has been quick to put the “OLD” label on artists who have failed to stay current and relevant. This caused those artists, even ones who have made valuable contributions to Hip Hop, not to have longevity in the game. Are the wings of change blowing? Will we see some of out OGs respected and appreciated instead of dis’d and forgotten? Hit me on my twitter and tell me what you think. @EstebanSerrano youtu.be/L2-mDyNb_Ho
